La Belle Vie

In August of 2008, our family had the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Europe.  Friends told us we HAD to make Bruges one of our destinations, and it certainly held up to its reputation as the most beautiful city in Belgium.  It holds court to an incredible City Centre with a gorgeous cathedral and belfrey, beautiful buildings lined on the edges of a winding canal, and dozens of chocolate shops! What's not to love?

But what captivated me was this beautiful building, now a museum, connected to the Bonifacius Bridge at the edge of Arents Court.  To me, it is the very essence of La Belle Vie, living beautifully.  We saw many buildings even more beautiful during our trip, but this one spoke to my soul, and to me, that is what matters.  I love to surround my family and friends with pieces of my heart, most often expressed by making our home a warm and inviting place to be, by placing a homemade meal on the table I handpainted this summer, or through creating hand made items I love to give.  Sprung from this passion, I am launching my blog, La Belle Vie, and a line of home accessories that exemplify this way of life.  Inspired by all things European, and a little bit of Southern hospitality to thank Texas and the South for all of the wonderful inspiration they have provided over the years, I hope you enjoy these inspirations as well.

Blessings,
Kathy
